Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement operational sequencing and specification procedures to enhance efficiency and quality in complex manufacturing processes.
  • Plan, design, and select specialized manufacturing processes, considering materials, specifications, tolerances, equipment, fixtures, tooling, and work instructions.
  • Drive strategic product line initiatives and operational modifications in collaboration with engineering to improve products and processes, ensuring alignment with future business needs.
  • Address complex technical matters necessary for producing a product that meets specified volume, timeline, cost, and quality standards.
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for products, addressing challenges in transferring technology from research to production, including new or revised processes.
  • Deliver innovative data collection methods for statistical analysis and utilize data visualization to effectively communicate technical results.
  • Independently monitor and enhance quality control procedures to ensure critical processes and products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Foster a culture of compliance, ensuring that all documentation related to manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications is meticulously maintained.
  • Promote continuous improvement by implementing best practices and incorporating feedback to advance aerospace manufacturing.
  • Lead and support projects from inception to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals, timelines, and budgetary constraints.

Qualifications

Required:

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is typically required, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a high-complexity, tight-tolerance, low-volume aerospace production environment.
  • Familiarity with conveying work instructions to teams, particularly using software solutions like Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Proven track record in implementing significant value stream improvements that yield substantial results and engage front-line teams.
  • Strong ability to articulate and communicate technical information, fostering consensus among team members, leaders, customers, and suppliers.
  • A demonstrated passion for STEAM, particularly in science or engineering.
  • A champion of lean manufacturing principles or other technical matters related to aerospace.
