Position Overview

The Electrical Programming Engineer 1 is an integral part of the Engineering Department, directly reporting to the Senior Controls Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Design: Proficient in programming with Allen Bradley or Siemens PLC/HMI systems is preferred. Familiarity with robotics programming is an added advantage.
  • Self-Motivated: A well-organized, detail-oriented individual with strong creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Product Development: Engage in advanced design of new products or re-engineering existing software. This includes understanding the development of existing products related to schematics, control cabinets, layouts, etc.
    • Utilize state-of-the-art software and tools.
    • Ensure timely completion of design projects.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations during the design process.
    • Develop concepts and solutions that meet customer specifications while estimating implementation costs.
  • Commissioning and Debugging: Responsible for the commissioning and troubleshooting of products.
    • Safely energize machines and prepare for wet testing and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
    • Verify that the product aligns with design specifications.
    • Review and approve all relevant change requests.
    • Ensure proper documentation is maintained.
    • Confirm that the product meets all required specifications.
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of machine processes and operations.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit proficiency in both written and verbal communication, including the ability to present technical documents effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Time Management: Demonstrate strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong professional relationships with vendors and customers across various industries.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a team environment.
    • Learn from experienced engineers and mentor junior team members.
    • Lead design teams on significant projects, including conducting team meetings, design reviews, and project kick-offs.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as Manufacturing, Technical Support Services, Sales, and Purchasing.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, with at least 1 year of experience in a professional software development setting.
Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC/HMI systems; experience with AC/DC drives is advantageous.
  • Experience with SolidWorks Electrical is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is beneficial.
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
