Position Overview:

The Equipment Maintenance and Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operational execution of machinery across various facilities. This role emphasizes a commitment to Safety, meticulous planning, and effective scheduling, while managing maintenance backlogs and implementing both preventive and corrective measures. The incumbent will lead all facets of the Work Management Process (WMP) and coordinate with operational leadership to prioritize and identify work based on established work orders. Furthermore, this position involves supervising maintenance activities across the Rolling Mill, Bar Mill, Cast Shop, and general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication and Relationship Management:

  • Adhere to the defined Roles and Responsibilities at the Superintendent Level as outlined in the Revere Copper Products Inc. (RCPI) Maintenance Work Management Process.
  • Provide regular updates to operational leadership regarding the status of executed and planned work.
  • Engage in daily discussions to enhance supervisor and employee involvement in safety, quality, and productivity during mill inspections and observations.
  • Be readily available to assist team members in troubleshooting machinery issues, offering necessary leadership support.
  • Take responsibility for workplace challenges related to direct reports and communicate effectively to resolve issues.
  • Ensure seamless communication between shifts regarding safety, equipment status, staffing, and end-of-shift reporting.
  • Comply with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and apply all workplace policies and Human Resource procedures; consult HR as necessary.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage requisitions for urgent equipment repairs.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous.
Safety Leadership:
  • Proactively foster a culture of safety by engaging direct reports in local safety meetings, action plans, and follow-ups on safety reports, including data collection and injury report management.
Quality Assurance:
  • Champion the application of workmanship standards, supporting training and coaching for employees on documented work methods and conducting job instruction breakdown (JIB) observations to reinforce these methods.
Equipment Reliability:
  • Collaborate with the Reliability Team to implement methods and procedures that enhance equipment data and specifications, aiming for improved output and availability.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in maintenance engineering within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and supervisory capabilities in an industrial context.
  • 5-7 years of project management experience.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in relationship and team building, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Engineering acumen.
  • Financial analysis proficiency.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols.
  • Computer literacy.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, high noise levels, and dusty environments.

Education and Training:

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Arts or Science in a related field with a focus on Behavioral Management Leadership Techniques.
