About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Montage International. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and will play a critical role in driving the motivation and productivity of our culinary staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and manage kitchen staff, ensuring timely posting of schedules
  • Track and manage kitchen inventory, preparing and ordering all necessary items for menus
  • Recruit and develop staff, monitoring their performance and providing feedback
  • Assist in maintaining food and labor costs, ensuring efficient operations
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed, and execute all production and plating in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, appearance, and storage, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef on menu development and recipe standardization
  • Take responsibility for shifts during the Executive Chef's absence
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and condition, ensuring compliance with health codes and ordinances
Requirements
  • Culinary school graduate or related training required
  • Previous experience in hospitality or club operations preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with guests and staff
  • Experience implementing new food concepts and menus
  • Experience with scheduling, labor costing, payroll administration, and staff performance management
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements

Constant standing and walking throughout shift. Occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water. Ability to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000.00 to $70,000.00 annually, exclusive of incentive pay. We are an equal opportunity employer and maintain a drug-free workplace, performing pre-employment substance abuse testing.
