ROLE OVERVIEW:
As the Culinary Operations Leader, you will oversee all aspects of our scratch-based kitchen operations. You will serve as the culinary backbone of our establishments while managing and being accountable for your team of culinary professionals. Your role requires a blend of advanced business and culinary skills to maintain a high-performing kitchen.

You will take ownership of order and inventory management, preparation oversight, and adherence to health and safety standards within your kitchen environment.

As a subject matter expert, you will be a crucial resource for your team and colleagues, consistently focusing on food quality, cost management, and training as key metrics for growth.

Staying organized and detail-oriented in a dynamic environment is essential to your success in this position. You will effectively multitask and guide your culinary team through daily operations, ensuring they are well-prepared to execute our diverse menu.

TEAM DYNAMICS:
Our establishments operate using a traditional brigade system. As the Culinary Operations Leader, you will be the second in command, reporting directly to the Chef Operator, while the Sous Chefs and Chefs-in-training will report to you.

You will collaborate with other restaurant leaders to ensure that the team is well-trained and organized, providing guests with an experience that transcends a mere meal.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Lead and inspire your team of culinary trainees by exemplifying culinary expertise and a positive attitude to consistently deliver exceptional food.

Ensure the quality and presentation of food remains high across all service channels.


Oversee the quality of fresh ingredients sourced from our farm partners, while managing inventory, supply, preparation lists, ordering, and quality assurance processes in the kitchen.

Run efficient shifts by organizing the deployment board and managing the preparation schedule.

Conduct line checks to assess readiness for service, identify preparation needs, and minimize waste.

Maintain a well-organized kitchen operation, including storage, labeling, preparation, and compliance with safety protocols.

Manage kitchen facilities, ensuring all culinary equipment is maintained, and cleanliness and organization are upheld.

Work closely with the Chef Operator to manage labor and food costs effectively.

Build your kitchen team by participating in the hiring process, providing performance feedback, and addressing disciplinary matters.

Provide constructive feedback through the DIRECT model, monitoring team effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1-2+ years of experience managing a restaurant team

A strong work ethic and the ability to demonstrate it consistently.

Skills to motivate and develop culinary professionals on your team.

A genuine appreciation for your colleagues.


The ability to meet the physical demands of the role (frequently lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds).

A willingness to actively participate in all kitchen activities as needed.

A commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.

The drive to build strong relationships within the restaurant community.

The ability to analyze various factors to determine optimal solutions to challenges.

Excellent communication skills.

A keen eye for detail and problem-solving capabilities.

COMPENSATION:

Salary Range:
$70,000-75,000/year with annual increase + quarterly bonus with high growth potential
