Job Overview

The Vice President of Operations is tasked with managing all operational facets of Intercap Lending's mortgage financing division. This role demands the establishment and maintenance of effective, compliant, and customer-focused mortgage lending workflows. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a profound understanding of mortgage operations, regulatory standards, underwriting practices, and industry benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute operational strategies aimed at optimizing mortgage lending workflows and boosting productivity.
  • Supervise the entire mortgage lending process, from application through to closing, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Lead and mentor teams engaged in underwriting, processing, and closing, promoting a culture of teamwork, innovation, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Establish risk management measures to minimize operational risks and uphold the integrity of mortgage lending activities.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and technology, to foster operational excellence and align with business goals.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with essential stakeholders, including borrowers, lenders, wholesale partners, regulators, vendors, and industry associates.
  • Remain informed about industry developments, regulatory updates, and emerging technologies to guide strategic decisions and stimulate innovation within the mortgage lending sector.
  • Oversee budgets and allocate resources efficiently to support operational aims and meet financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in mortgage lending operations, demonstrating a successful leadership track record.
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, compliance standards, underwriting practices, and industry benchmarks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience in guiding teams to achieve operational excellence and deliver results.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in mortgage lending software and technology platforms.
  • Relevant industry certifications are preferred.
