Job Overview

WSP is seeking a skilled professional to join their organization as a Vice President of Bridge Engineering. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with the Bridge Structures Team on a variety of projects, contributing to a forward-thinking organization dedicated to achieving client objectives efficiently.

As the Vice President, you will offer technical guidance and leadership for infrastructure initiatives, with a particular emphasis on bridges, signage, retaining walls, and associated transportation structures. Your duties will encompass research, design, planning, and construction efforts to guarantee project success and adherence to industry standards.
Your Contributions
Design Responsibilities
  • Utilize engineering methodologies for diverse structural tasks.
  • Evaluate submissions and shop drawings.
  • Conduct design calculations and load assessments.
  • Execute project-specific evaluations.
  • Generate essential plans, specifications, estimates, and technical documentation.
Analytical Duties
  • Propose creative solutions and resolve intricate technical challenges.
  • Review and compile analytical reports and financial information.
  • Establish project timelines and objectives.
  • Employ software tools for engineering problem resolution.
  • Ensure project execution remains within budgetary and temporal limits.
Collaborative Efforts
  • Engage closely with project teams and other disciplines as necessary.
  • Coordinate project activities effectively.
  • Lead team discussions and nurture client relationships.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Exhibit ethical decision-making and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of post-educational experience in engineering.
  • Possession of a PE or SE license in the relevant jurisdiction or ability to secure licensure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure planning and design.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and engineering software.
  • Familiarity with industry design standards and safety regulations.
  • Commitment to safety policies and procedures.
  • Adaptability to evolving work environments.
  • Potential for occasional travel for project-related needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering.
  • Relevant professional licenses/certifications.
  • Experience with local transportation projects.
  • Basic knowledge of CADD software such as MicroStation.
