Overview



The Analytics & Reporting (A&R) team operates within the Risk Engineering sector of Goldman Sachs, focusing on delivering comprehensive insights into the firm's risk profile. This enables senior leadership, investors, and regulators to make informed and timely decisions regarding risk management.



Risk Engineering is a diverse group of quantitative specialists responsible for generating independent risk and capital metrics. The team plays a crucial role in modeling, producing, reviewing, and communicating risk analytics that ensure adherence to the firm's Risk Appetite and the maintenance of adequate Risk Capital. Insights and metrics are provided to the Chief Risk Officer, senior management, regulators, and other stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities



The A&R team is essential in delivering critical regulatory and risk metrics across various domains, including market, credit, liquidity, operational, and capital risks. Key responsibilities include:



  1. Providing consistent and reliable risk metrics and analytics, leveraging a deep understanding of the firm's operations and client activities.
  2. Developing efficient workflows and processes for the production of risk analytics related to both financial and non-financial risks.
  3. Ensuring the quality, timeliness, and completeness of the data utilized in generating these analytics.


Qualifications and Skills



Ideal candidates should possess:



  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, econometrics, computer science, or engineering.
  • A self-motivated, analytically creative, and team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on teamwork.
  • Experience in programming for ETL operations and data analysis using languages such as Python, Java, C++, SQL, and R.
  • Proficiency in developing data visualization and business intelligence solutions with tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and PowerBI.


Additionally, candidates should have:


  • A solid understanding of the financial industry, including markets and products, along with associated non-financial risks.
  • A working knowledge of mathematical concepts, including statistics and numerical algorithms.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial or non-financial risk management.
