Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Regional Sales Manager to spearhead sales initiatives across our Central region, focusing on the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and food, drug, and mass (FDM) sectors. This role will be based in our Chicago area office and will require a strong emphasis on business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key national and regional Pet Specialty Retailers.
  • Collaborate with Pet Specialty Distributors in the Central Region, providing training and support to enhance sales efforts.
  • Implement market strategies to boost brand visibility and drive sales growth.
  • Engage potential clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored solutions.
  • Work in conjunction with the USA Sales team to explore new sales avenues.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing and sales terms.
  • Develop a robust network to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and updates on account statuses.
  • Analyze distributor sales volumes to optimize account management.
  • Potential for advancement into a leadership role, overseeing a regional sales team.
  • Manage expenses effectively to adhere to budgetary constraints.
  • Stay informed on market trends and competitive activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and represent the organization professionally.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in CPG sales, particularly with headquarters and retail locations.
  • 5+ years of experience in FDM, specifically targeting grocery, drug, or mass retail environments.
  • Proven experience in distributor partnerships and understanding of distributor models.
  • Experience in pricing strategies and promotional collaborations.
  • Ability to assist in inventory forecasting based on sales data.
  • Strong aptitude for leveraging market trends and data analytics.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with clients.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and spend significant time on the road.
  • Demonstrated sales acumen and customer service expertise.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Compensation:
This position is exempt, with a salary range of $100,000 to $125,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
