Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the promotion, market expansion, and sales of SPT Labtech's liquid handling and sample management products within the genomics, protein crystallization, and drug discovery sectors in your designated territory.
  • Manage all pre-sales activities leading up to purchase orders and provide support for post-sales initiatives.
  • Work autonomously while closely collaborating with sales specialists, support teams, product management, and marketing departments.
  • Schedule and execute product demonstrations and presentations for prospective clients.
  • Achieve the following objectives:
    • Effectively communicate the company's history, culture, and strategic vision.
    • Manage the customer database proficiently, proposing a comprehensive strategy based on measurable goals.
    • Organize work priorities to meet personal and company-defined objectives.
    • Adhere to and implement company priorities regarding products and market strategies.
    • Develop and track all sales opportunities, balancing various product lines to ensure effective collaboration with product specialists.
    • Establish a consultative relationship with clients, positioning yourself as a trusted advisor through a structured commercial approach.
    • Articulate the benefits of SPT solutions in relation to end-user workflows using various communication tools.
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of product and service offerings, proposing integrated solutions through cross-selling.
    • Ensure optimal application knowledge through collaboration with support functions.
    • Oversee CRM data management and accuracy.

Candidate Profile:

  • Preferred location in the San Francisco area to facilitate effective sales operations with an established network.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in capital equipment sales within the Life Sciences sector, particularly with automated liquid handling technologies.
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent in a Life Science discipline; familiarity with Genomics or Protein Crystallography is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50%) within the region.
  • Proficient in CRM systems, with Salesforce experience being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in business development.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and capable of remote work.
