Role Overview: As a Product Innovation Manager, you will oversee projects with minimal supervision while receiving guidance from the Head of Product Development and Senior Project Managers. Your responsibilities will include coordinating activities throughout the development phase until customer approval, ensuring timely production delivery that meets budget and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit leadership and decision-making capabilities in executing product development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, monitor budgets, and facilitate communication among project resources and stakeholders, aligning with corporate objectives.
  • Coordinate activities from design through pilot tooling, production molding, and into full-scale production, ensuring accountability for molds, machinery, and packaging components.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable plans.
  • Manage project planning, including Gantt charts and scheduling constraints, while identifying bottlenecks and collaborating with team members to devise solutions.
  • Prioritize projects effectively and communicate across key stakeholders.
  • Adhere to and apply knowledge of project management methodologies and stage-gate processes.
  • Oversee project loads with effective time management.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, or requests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Facilitate design activities between customers and internal design teams.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and vendors to ascertain project requirements and provide direction.
  • Document key project information: Utilize appropriate forms and adhere to established procedures for project execution.
  • Maintain project costs and manage all health, safety, and legal requirements.
  • Travel is expected, averaging 30% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job:

  • Occasionally required to sit.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision.

What Makes You Great:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering.
  • Three years of project management experience, preferably within the plastics industry.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of HDPE, PP, and PET resins.
  • Familiarity with mold and design construction.
  • Understanding of key principles in blow molding and related machinery.
  • Ability to apply and assess SPC/statistics/Quality charts/Six Sigma principles.
  • Knowledge of key features on bottles for performance and closure seal.
  • Understanding of customer filling lines, distribution, and consumer use.
  • Experience in bottle testing, capable of conducting dimensional and functional evaluations.
  • Knowledge of packaging systems, including types, costs, and ordering procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve packaging system issues.
