SUMMARY

The production team associate will efficiently set up, operate, and adjust metal forming machinery utilizing the correct tools and methodologies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MACHINE OPERATION
Configures, operates, and fine-tunes metal forming machinery using the appropriate tools and methods.
Ensures machinery operates according to established procedures and maintains optimal condition.
Safely operates the cutback saw to meet order specifications.
Maintains cleanliness in the mill and surrounding areas.
Conducts all changeovers with the correct tooling.
Replaces punches and shear dies as necessary.
Aims to meet machine performance goals.
Exhibits a willingness to assist in training fellow team members.
Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Completes additional tasks as assigned.

SAFETY
Adheres to safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Implements Lockout Procedures as required by specific safety assessments.
Utilizes and maintains all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
Comprehends the operation of all safety devices.
Alerts management to any malfunctioning or absent safety devices before operating machinery.

QUALITY

Conducts quality assessments, including:
Utilizes a tape measure to verify length, width, and hole spacing.
Employs a micrometer to periodically measure product thickness.
Performs routine inspections for straightness, bow, and camber.
Executes regular checks for part dimensions using appropriate tools.
Maintains all quality documentation in a clear and legible manner.

MAINTENANCE


Conducts routine maintenance and informs maintenance staff of any machinery issues that could hinder production, pose safety risks, or lead to further complications.

Assists maintenance personnel as directed.

HOUSEKEEPING
Ensures a clean and organized workspace.

OTHER
Supports material handlers in changing coils and adheres to reject policies for non-conforming steel.
Guides and trains assistants in performing essential tasks.
Completes necessary paperwork accurately.

QUALIFICATIONS
Mechanically inclined
Problem-solving skills
Team-oriented

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
Military experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
Standing: 8 or more hours per day
Walking: 4-6 hours per day
Body Positions: Squatting, bending, flexing, and extending both arms
Grasping: Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
Sitting: None
Pushing Effort: Carts of finished products and tools, up to 50 lbs.
Pulling: Tools and finished products, up to 15 lbs.
Climbing (ladders/stairs): Occasionally

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions to decimals.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing facility - exposure to varying temperatures.
Personal Protective Equipment is required at all times.
Noise-controlled environment.
High activity level - continuous overhead crane and forklift movement.
