Role Overview:
As a Product Development Manager, you will oversee projects with minimal supervision while receiving guidance from the Head of Product Development and Senior Project Managers. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate activities throughout the development phase until customer approval, ensuring timely delivery to production that meets budget and quality standards.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit leadership and decisiveness in executing product development initiatives. Develop and maintain project timelines, manage budgets, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to align with corporate objectives.
  • Coordinate activities from design to pilot tooling, production molds, and final production, ensuring all components meet specifications.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable project plans.
  • Manage project planning, including Gantt charts and scheduling, while identifying bottlenecks and collaborating with team members to devise solutions.
  • Prioritize projects effectively and maintain clear communication with key stakeholders.
  • Apply knowledge of project management methodologies and stage-gate processes.
  • Oversee project loads and manage time efficiently.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Facilitate design coordination between customers and internal teams.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and vendors to ascertain project requirements and provide direction.
  • Document essential project information using established procedures.
  • Maintain project cost management.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.
  • Travel may be required, averaging 30% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this role include:
  • Regularly standing, walking, reaching, and occasionally climbing.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and talking.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 lbs regularly, 30 lbs frequently, and more than 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision capabilities for close work.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Mechanical, or Plastics Engineering.
  • A minimum of three years of project management experience, ideally within the plastics sector.
Skills:
  • Technical expertise in HDPE, PP, and PET resins.
  • Understanding of mold and design construction.
  • Knowledge of blow molding principles and machinery.
  • Ability to apply SPC/statistics/Quality charts/Six Sigma principles.
  • Familiarity with bottle testing and performance evaluation.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting packaging system issues.
