Educational & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within the manufacturing or produce sector
- At least 2 years of management or supervisory experience
- Comprehensive understanding of cost accounting principles, systems, and procedures
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee cost accounting processes, ensuring precise reporting of Cost of Goods Manufactured and Sold.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to rectify inventory discrepancies.
- Manage monthly reconciliation and update standard costs to reflect actual costs.
- Maintain a perpetual inventory system.
- Coordinate the monthly closing process, collaborating with various departments to achieve a 4-day close, which includes planning and leading monthly and quarterly inventory, preparing journal entries, posting, balancing, and reconciling subsidiary ledgers.
- Actively engage in the annual budgeting process by supplying updated cost information across diverse product lines.
- Reconcile inventory balances.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial data, including actual product costs and standard costs for new products.
- Analyze intricate manufacturing processes in partnership with Plant Managers to enhance decision-making.
- Provide account analysis for assigned accounts and additional accounts as required.
- Uphold the integrity and accuracy of the accounting system.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in analytical techniques and good work paper practices.
- Capability to communicate financial information effectively with department managers.
- Exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures.
- Prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
- Support staff development and cross-training initiatives.
