POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Building Operations Supervisor at Deckers Brands, you will oversee the comprehensive management of facility operations, both inside and outside the premises. Your role will encompass maintenance, automation, janitorial services, and grounds management. You will also provide support in supervising housekeeping and janitorial functions throughout the facility, ensuring optimal productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this position, you will:
- Manage workforce requirements, budget allocations, and cost controls while coordinating activities among service providers and staff.
- Oversee all aspects of facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance programs and repairs to the building and associated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state and local codes within the maintenance and engineering departments.
- Recommend modifications to maintenance, mechanical, and electrical facility designs, and communicate workplace safety protocols effectively.
- Maintain compliance with safety and security standards for the facility, overseeing the testing and maintenance of emergency equipment.
- Collaborate with leasing agents on strategic space planning, lease negotiations, and facility improvements.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and ensure the health and safety of the indoor and outdoor environments.
- Evaluate and monitor facility vendors, ensuring quality service delivery.
- Oversee procurement of parts and supplies in line with business needs and budgetary guidelines.
- Identify and recognize employee performance, providing coaching where necessary to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize strong organizational and problem-solving skills to address escalated issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Foster productive relationships with peers, superiors, vendors, and other stakeholders, representing Deckers Brands positively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience with conveyors, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, and industrial electrical systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V and basic welding skills.
- Experience in implementing professional facilities and maintenance structures.
- A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in maintenance or facilities functions within a medium to large distribution center or manufacturing operation.
- 5+ years of experience in distribution or manufacturing maintenance and facilities.
- Familiarity with automation processes and OSHA requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role may require:
- Regularly sitting, using hands for tasks, reaching, climbing, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision and depth perception.
