Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Banking Specialist to join our team at New Peoples Bank. As a Commercial Banking Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of commercial relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and retain commercial business by meeting with current or prospective customers of moderate complexity.
  • Accept commercial loan applications, process information, and analyze financial data to determine credit worthiness.
  • Approve or decline loan requests within established credit authority, ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulations.
  • Maintain a Commercial Loan Portfolio, monitoring relationships to identify potential credit risks and deterioration.
  • Manage and minimize loan exceptions, outstanding documentation, and update financial information on a routine basis.
  • Serve as primary contact for commercial services needs within officer-identified portfolios.
  • Request analysis on new and renewed loan requests in accordance with loan policy for approval by management.
  • Maintain knowledge of new commercial lending products and services, including deposit and loan offerings, policies, documentation, structuring, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in local civic organizations and professional functions to enhance business opportunities and promote the bank's image.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Credit Officer and Sr. Loan Officer to achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited four-year college with a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of banking experience involving lending, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
