POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for delivering precise and timely financial services to upper management and reports directly to the Financial Planning and Analysis department. The role encompasses accounting responsibilities for multiple Holding companies and their subsidiaries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
  • Documenting Journal Entries.
  • Reconciling subsidiary accounts.
  • Overseeing the General Ledger and preparing trial balances and financial statements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of audit documentation and responding to inquiries from external auditors.
  • Creating spreadsheets and conducting data analysis.
  • Executing complex bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements along with associated management reports.
  • Driving continuous enhancements in the monthly financial closing process, focusing on the timeliness and accuracy of information and resource utilization.
  • Ensuring compliance with Corporate Accounting policies.
  • Experience with Merchant Processing.
  • Managing accounting for fixed asset transactions, including purchases, sales/retirements, and depreciation.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, sharing best practices as a collaborative team member, and adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

This position demands exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation while accurately analyzing, preparing, and presenting data, with the capacity to proactively address challenges and deliver superior service to management, support staff, and vendors.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvements (efficient resource utilization, enhancing quality and timeliness of information) and to supervise and inspire accounting personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficient financial systems skills.
  • Advanced skills in Word and Excel.
  • Outstanding organizational capabilities.
  • Experience with AccPac or similar business intelligence tools.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
