Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Practical Nursing Specialist to join our team. The role involves providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill or injured employees in healthcare clinics, executing the following responsibilities:


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient interviews to assess medical issues and document findings for physician review.
  • Measure and record vital signs and weight of patients.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations as required.
  • Review and discuss physician's orders, lab requests, or follow-up needs with patients.
  • Accurately document services rendered on appropriate forms.
  • Dress wounds as directed and apply compresses, ice, and heat packs.
  • Monitor patients and report any adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the supervising medical personnel.
  • Administer prescribed medications, whether orally or via subcutaneous or intramuscular injection, and document the time and dosage in patient records.
  • Assemble and utilize clinic equipment effectively.
  • Collect samples, including urine, blood, and sputum, for laboratory testing and perform routine tests on these samples.
  • Ensure sterilization of equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of rooms and change linens as necessary.
  • Manage supplies, including restocking, ordering new items, and disposing of expired or damaged materials.
  • Address patient or client inquiries via telephone, evaluating and responding to their concerns and questions.
  • Follow up with patients who miss appointments.
  • Communicate lab results to patients and coordinate any necessary follow-up tests.
  • Facilitate referrals for patients through insurance and other healthcare providers.
  • This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a National League for Nursing accredited program, holding an Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Current licensure as a Practical or Vocational Nurse.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support is mandatory; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on the scope of services.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience as an LPN/LVN in settings such as ambulatory care, occupational health, or emergency departments.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations.
  • Proficient computer skills, including internet software, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records is preferred.
