**This position allows for remote work; however, candidates will need to visit the office to collect their equipment.

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join our team at Crescens. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Information Systems Security and relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor security incidents and alerts from diverse sources, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), firewalls, and other security tools.
  • Analyze security incidents to assess the nature and extent of threats.
  • Investigate and respond to security events, including malware infections, network breaches, and unauthorized access attempts.
  • Develop and maintain incident response strategies and protocols.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt and effective incident response and resolution.
  • Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Document security incidents, detailing their impact, root cause analysis, and remediation steps.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a security operations center (SOC) or a related security role; OR
  • An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR
  • Completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or a related field AND five (5) years of information systems experience in a security operations center (SOC) or related security role; OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field AND three (3) years of experience in a security operations center (SOC) or related security role; OR
  • A Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field AND one (1) year of experience in a security operations center (SOC) or related security role.

Desired Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience as a SOC Analyst or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong understanding of security principles, concepts, and technologies.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools and security monitoring systems.
  • Experience with incident response methodologies and tools.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and security infrastructure components.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) are advantageous.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive problem solver, self-motivated, and quick to learn essential tasks.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including facilitation and coordination with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt, remain flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness, with the capacity to manage interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically.
  • Ability to apply equity, intersectional, and anti-racist perspectives to projects.
