Job Overview

Martek Global Services, Inc. is a recognized leader in providing a diverse range of IT solutions. We are currently looking for a Junior Technical Support Specialist to join our dedicated team. This role involves supporting various technological initiatives within the Department of Defense.

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive technical support to users. Key responsibilities include:

  • Offering technical guidance to computer users.
  • Resolving inquiries or technical issues for clients through various communication channels.
  • Managing user accounts, including account creation and password resets.
  • Conducting system-level administration and troubleshooting.
  • Assisting users in understanding the functionalities of software and hardware.
  • Monitoring system performance to ensure optimal operational capability.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of standard operating procedures.
  • Performing additional tasks as required.
  • Reporting any irregularities to the supervisor.
Educational Qualifications
  • Must possess an active in-scope SECRET clearance and the capability to obtain a top-secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
  • A high school diploma with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with 2+ years of experience, or a bachelor's degree is preferred.
Essential Skills and Knowledge

Preferred experience with various High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems and technologies:

  • Familiarity with Cray/Cray Ex, IBM, SGI, Penguin, or custom architectures.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, or other Linux-based operating systems.
  • Knowledge of InfiniBand (IB) and Intel Omni-Path interconnects.
  • Understanding of Portable Batch System (PBS), Simple Linux Utility for Resource Management (SLURM), or IBM Platform Load Sharing Facility (LSF) schedulers.
  • Experience with Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, or ARM CPUs.
  • Familiarity with Nvidia graphic processing units (GPUs).
  • Knowledge of ITIL Foundation principles.
