Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the flow of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring that all items are accurately documented, labeled, and stored. This role requires collaboration with various departments to facilitate efficient logistics operations and maintain precise inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

Receiving Duties:

  • Unload incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders.
  • Inspect items for any damage or discrepancies.
  • Document and report any issues related to received goods.
  • Update the inventory management system with information on received items.

Shipping Duties:

  • Prepare and package items for shipment in accordance with company standards and customer specifications.
  • Create and attach shipping labels, ensuring all documentation is correct.
  • Coordinate with carriers and arrange for pick-ups.
  • Monitor shipments to guarantee timely delivery.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular physical inventory counts.
  • Assist in cycle counting and resolving any inventory discrepancies.
  • Organize and store items in the warehouse to maximize space efficiency.

Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain precise shipping and receiving logs.
  • Generate reports for management regarding shipping and receiving activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Effectively communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
  • Address issues related to shipment delays, damages, or discrepancies.
  • Assist in coordinating returns and exchanges with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
