Position Summary:

This role serves as the primary point of contact in the branch for sales, service, and referral opportunities, aligning with overall branch objectives. You will be instrumental in driving customer engagement and supporting branch activities. Responsibilities include servicing existing clients and identifying growth opportunities. You will assist the Customer Service Representative (CSR) and Customer Service Specialist (CSS) teams with customer transactions as needed. Staying informed about operational, product, and system updates is crucial, as is making sound risk management decisions to mitigate losses and prevent fraud. You will also process loan applications from initiation to closure, including home equity products, while adhering to consumer loan policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver exceptional customer service to all bank patrons.
  2. Process a variety of retail and commercial transactions accurately and efficiently, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and check cashing.
  3. Promote the bank's products and services, directing customers to the appropriate sales personnel for complex inquiries.
  4. Accurately process daily transactions and balance your cash drawer with minimal assistance.
  5. Maintain accurate customer contact information to ensure effective communication.
  6. Assist with various support tasks, including night drop, ATM balancing, and safe deposit box management.
  7. Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, typing, filing, and preparing check orders.
  8. Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and federal regulations to achieve satisfactory branch audits while maintaining confidentiality.
  9. Manage client and prospective client needs effectively.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience at Pathfinder Bank or a comparable institution.
  • Must obtain an NMLS number.
  • Meets all criteria for Customer Service Specialist.
  • Completion of ABA Universal Banker Certification or equivalent, along with any relevant internal training.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently transition services into sales.
  • Effective or higher rating on annual performance reviews.
  • Ability to take responsibility for errors and resolve them promptly.
  • Notary public certification.
  • Proven capability to open and close the branch according to established procedures.
  • Eligibility for certain lending authority.
