Job Overview

Position: Community Support Specialist

Are you seeking a rewarding part-time opportunity that allows you to make a difference in someone's life? If you enjoy assisting others and imparting essential life skills, this role may be ideal for you. A client is in need of support for community engagement, requiring assistance for a few hours to foster her interests. Her hobbies include puzzles, music, television, movies, baking, coloring, and crafts. All services will be provided in a home setting.


The client is looking for compassionate, patient, and imaginative support staff. The perfect candidate should be dependable, enthusiastic, observant, and eager to participate in her interests. Comfort with providing personal care is also necessary. While experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, it is not mandatory.

This is a part-time role, with opportunities for additional hours available with other clients.


Work Schedule: Saturdays from 10 AM to 2 PM.


Compensation: Starting pay is $20.50 per hour, with potential increases based on relevant experience.


Location: Syracuse, NY

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work independently in the client's home and/or community
  • Dependable with strong communication and organizational skills
  • No prior experience required, although experience with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
  • A valid New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance are required; an acceptable driving record is necessary
  • Must possess technology to download various applications for community use
