Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire, service, and expand relationships with small businesses typically generating annual gross sales up to $1 million.
  • Engage proactively with new businesses, structuring and finalizing commercial loans, along with related deposit relationships, while managing a commercial loan portfolio.
  • Identify risks associated with loan transactions and maintain effective communication regarding those risks.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of applicants to assess, authorize, or recommend approval for lines of credit, commercial loans, and commercial real estate loans.
  • Ensure adherence to all consumer regulations relevant to the role.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, compliance issues, and bank policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
  • Conduct interviews with applicants to ascertain loan requirements and gather necessary information for applications.
  • Develop new commercial loan and deposit relationships through continuous networking, including client meetings and community events.
  • Prepare financing proposals for client review, aligned with the Bank's credit risk tolerance.
  • Analyze financial statements and information to make informed decisions regarding loan approvals or denials.
  • Assist in the creation of new deposit accounts and treasury management services.
  • Support the branch team in achieving departmental goals and assisting customers with their broader financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with management and the lending team to evaluate credit requests and recommend suitable loan structures to mitigate risk.
  • Work alongside the Business Services Team to leverage digital capabilities effectively.
  • Establish, negotiate, and approve loans within designated limits or refer them to the loan committee for approval, while maximizing profitability and minimizing risk.
  • Meet sales targets as outlined in annual reviews.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing commercial loan and deposit clients.
  • Implement and monitor the business services sales plan as assigned.
  • Ensure timely loan closings and funding.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business banking or commercial lending.
  • Strong understanding of business financial statements and credit analysis.
  • Proven sales and customer service experience with a history of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Familiarity with business banking products and services, including loans, lines of credit, and treasury management.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with business clients.
  • Proficient in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal banking compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Willingness to engage in community events to represent the bank and foster business development.
  • Valid driver's license and personal transportation for client meetings and business development opportunities.
