About Oakland Leaf Foundation

Founded in 2001, Oakland Leaf Foundation is dedicated to uplifting youth voices and fostering community engagement. Over the past two decades, we have established ourselves as a prominent leader in youth development and after-school education.

Our organization provides culturally relevant after-school programming for around 1,000 K-12 students in East Oakland. We operate seven after-school initiatives at local public schools, a paid internship program for high school students, and two distinct summer camps tailored for elementary and middle school youth. Our programs prioritize social and emotional learning, creative expression, critical thinking, leadership skills, social justice, and college and career readiness, featuring a wide array of enrichment activities such as S.T.E.M. projects, sports, poetry, visual arts, dance, literacy, and community service initiatives.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator will oversee administrative tasks, maintain attendance records, and manage sports logistics. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our programs and will report directly to the designated Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input attendance data into the designated student information system.
  • Generate precise reports on daily student attendance.
  • Supervise the submission of attendance records by after-school staff.
  • Process and verify student absence information provided by parents or guardians.
  • Compile and analyze daily and weekly attendance reports, including required monthly Average Daily Attendance.
  • Implement protocols for managing student sports logistics, including rosters, games, and attendance at league meetings.
  • Provide coverage for classes as needed during staffing gaps.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess TB clearance and background checks from relevant authorities.
  • Completion of 48 semester college units or successful passage of the Instructional Aide exam.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with youth, parents, educators, and various stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, computer, typing, and data entry skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite is required.
  • Commitment to the mission and core values of Oakland Leaf Foundation.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.

Working Conditions

  • Typical school and office environment.
  • Attendance at offsite meetings may be required.
  • Availability to work evenings for events is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Compensation

  • Hourly wage ranges from $20 to $25, based on experience.
  • Paid breaks during school holidays.
