Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Program Coordinator to join our team at the City of Piedmont. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing a variety of educational and recreational activities for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a monthly outline of activities for supervisory approval
  • Conduct and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, activities, and special events
  • Provide technical assistance to staff and assist in developing discipline and classroom management techniques
  • Ensure the safety of children and staff at all times and maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and scheduling the work of assigned staff
  • Assist in preparing a monthly site calendar/newsletter
  • Assist in selecting and arranging field trips, special events, and guest speakers
Requirements
  • Equivalent to completion of 2 years of college and 3 years of experience working in a childcare or recreation program
  • Completion of coursework in education, child development, or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Working Conditions
  • 20-25 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Part-time
  • $16.00-$30.00 per hour
