Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and implement program functions and activities, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and District policies.
- Perform administrative, coordinative, and technical support duties for a designated program, including record-keeping and data entry.
- Serve as a liaison to participants, staff, and community organizations, providing presentations, information, and assistance regarding assigned programs and services.
- Act as a program representative with external organizations, coordinating department services and activities with other District departments and outside agencies.
- Develop and distribute program-specific information, forms, records, reports, correspondence, and data as required.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and conducting of training activities related to program assignment.
- Assist higher levels in administering the assigned programs and activities.
- Attend and participate in professional meetings and regulatory training, staying abreast of new trends, innovations, laws, and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business or public administration, planning, or a related field.
- Additional years of experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Three years of recent, verifiable, specialized administrative, analytical, or program support experience or two years at a level equivalent to the District's classification of Assistant Program Specialist.
- Attention to detail, accountability, and solid administrative skills.
- Good interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Self-confidence to learn new things and function independently when fully trained.
- Obligation to confidentiality and a team player willing to chip in on new tasks with a positive attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and general data entry and computer skills.
- May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and walk/stand for moderate periods.
- Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently.
- Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
