Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at Stearns Companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Human Resource Function and Labor Relations of all company facilities and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage personnel records, timekeeping, and payroll
  • Compile and maintain data for each employee, including addresses, absences, sales production, supervisory reports, and termination records
  • Prepare reports for employment records, file employment records, and search employee files to furnish information to authorized persons
  • Process, verify, and maintain personnel-related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievance, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leave of absence
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants
  • Record data for each employee, including addresses, weekly earnings, absences, sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations
  • Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs and worker's compensation plans
  • Search employee files to obtain information for authorized persons and organizations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development
  • 1 to 3 plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions
  • Experience in Transportation Industry preferred but not required
  • State of Ohio Notary Public preferred but not required

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and practices
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment and experience with various HRIS
  • Familiarity with payroll and recruiting software
  • Able to analyze written documentation
  • Complex problem-solving skills
