POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Generalist III plays a crucial role in supporting HR initiatives and managing projects to ensure the effective implementation of the company's strategic objectives while promoting a positive workplace culture. This role provides direct assistance to the HR Department, Terminal Managers, and employees in all aspects of Human Resources, including employee relations, talent acquisition, and cultural development. The HR Generalist will guide managers and staff in understanding policies and executing procedures in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Address inquiries from Corporate and Terminal Managers, employees, and candidates regarding a wide range of HR and employee relations matters on a daily basis.
  2. Deliver guidance, training, and development to field operations on HR issues, ensuring fairness and consistency in employee relations and talent acquisition.
  3. Collaborate with the HR Manager and HR Business Partners to manage projects that align with the strategic vision of the organization.
  4. Lead and implement HR projects to guarantee timely achievement of all milestones and deadlines.
  5. Facilitate and conduct employee relations investigations in partnership with Terminal and Corporate Management, including the approval and execution of disciplinary actions as per company policy.
  6. Provide training for Field Administrative Assistants.
  7. Assess, create, and deliver training materials for employees and managers on HR and strategic topics. Act as a trainer/presenter at various company orientations and training sessions.
  8. Foster positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with employees.
  9. Ensure that policies and procedures are developed and enforced in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, federal, state, local, and employment laws; work closely with the Legal Department as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience may be considered)

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is required.
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of comprehensive Human Resources experience is required.
Travel
  • Regional travel to terminals is required.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License is necessary.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification is preferred.
Tools & Equipment
  • General Office Equipment.
