Position Overview:
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Respiratory Care Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality respiratory care to our patients, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer respiratory therapies and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs to evaluate respiratory function.
  • Educate patients and their families on respiratory care practices and equipment usage.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with a minimum of two years of direct experience in respiratory care, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Must possess a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Current Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (LRCP) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care.
  • Advanced certifications such as ACCS, NPS, or ACLS.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves frequent standing, walking, and lifting of heavy equipment. The candidate must be capable of working in a medical facility environment, adhering to safety protocols, and utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.
