Position Summary:

As a Personal Support Specialist at Holistic Home Healthcare, you will be instrumental in delivering compassionate and individualized assistance to clients in the comfort of their residences. Your responsibilities will include aiding clients with various daily tasks, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they retain their independence and quality of life. Your commitment and dedication will significantly impact the lives of those you assist.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support with Daily Living Activities: Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to ensure their comfort and dignity.
  2. Medication Assistance: Help clients adhere to their medication schedules, ensuring they take prescribed medications at the correct times while monitoring for any side effects.
  3. Nutrition and Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare healthy meals, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences, while ensuring clients remain hydrated and maintain a balanced diet.
  4. Light Household Duties: Assist with light cleaning, laundry, and organization to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
  5. Companionship and Engagement: Foster social interaction through conversation, activities, and outings to alleviate loneliness and promote emotional well-being.
  6. Mobility Support: Aid clients with mobility challenges, including walking, transferring between beds and chairs, and using mobility aids.
  7. Documentation: Keep accurate records of care provided, noting any changes in the client's condition and reporting concerns to the supervisor as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA).
  • Prior experience in caregiving is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to assist others.
  • Dependable and trustworthy character.
