Position Overview

This role serves as a vital part of the Department of Transportation and Parking, acting as a "Campus Parking Coordinator". The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee and enforce parking regulations across various campus parking facilities. This role involves significant physical activity, including the handling of equipment, event setup and breakdown, outdoor work in diverse weather conditions, and assisting with maintenance tasks.

Work Schedule
  • Up to 25 hours per week during the academic semesters.
  • Shifts will be scheduled during enforcement hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Department Overview

The Transportation & Parking Services department is dedicated to providing a secure environment and facilitating access to campus resources by effectively managing transportation and parking assets in alignment with the university's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor campus parking areas to ensure compliance with established parking rules.
  • Identify and address violations, issuing citations when necessary.
  • Utilize License Plate Recognition technology to validate parking infractions.
  • Track and report on parking lot usage and availability.
  • Assist customers by answering inquiries and providing parking-related information.
  • Conduct minor maintenance tasks, such as sign replacements and lot painting.
  • Participate in special events, including graduations and athletic activities.
  • Support other departments within Campus Enterprises as required.

Enrollment Requirements

Academic Semesters: Students must maintain at least half-time enrollment to qualify for employment in student positions. For graduate students, half-time is defined as 5 credit hours, while undergraduate students must enroll in at least 6 credit hours. International students are required to maintain full-time enrollment.

Summer Employment: Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours during the summer to be eligible for regular student positions. Those not enrolled in summer courses must be registered for fall classes. Federal Work Study positions have specific enrollment criteria as well.

  • Proficiency with technology, including tablets and computers.
