The College of Education and Professional Studies is comprised of a dedicated faculty of over 200 professionals, including both full-time and part-time members, organized into several departments.

This college provides a wide array of academic programs, offering 21 undergraduate and 29 graduate majors, all of which are accredited by various recognized bodies.

Position Overview
The role involves teaching, advising, and mentoring students; assessing student performance; and maintaining academic records in compliance with university regulations. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with colleagues and engage in university committees as necessary. Responsibilities also include preparing departmental reports as needed.

Engagement in teaching, service, and scholarly activities is expected, in alignment with the tenure and promotion policies outlined in the university's faculty handbook.

This is a full-time, tenure-track role.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions

The Department of Psychology seeks a qualified candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position specializing in clinical or counseling psychology. The ideal applicant will possess an earned doctorate and demonstrate proficiency in evidence-based psychological practices.

Key responsibilities include instructing courses within our accredited Counseling Psychology master's program, which is designed to prepare students for mental health licensure.

The teaching responsibilities may encompass both undergraduate and graduate courses in specialized areas, utilizing various instructional formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities.

Additional duties involve supervising graduate students in clinical settings, facilitating research involvement, serving on departmental committees, and providing academic advising.

Our institution is a metropolitan university focused on undergraduate education and research.



Qualifications/Experience Required:

An earned doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited institution, along with completion of an APA-approved internship, is required.

Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a psychologist in the state and should be prepared to offer clinical supervision to graduate students in a training clinic.


Qualifications/Experience Preferred:

The preferred candidate will have a clinical science orientation, a dedication to training students in evidence-based practices, and a commitment to mentoring.

Teaching experience in higher education and a strong record of scholarly activity are highly desirable. The compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff is essential. The position reports to the Counseling Psychology Program Coordinator and the Department Chair.
