Position Overview:

As a Community Mortgage Banking Consultant at Wells Fargo, you will play a pivotal role in the Consumer Lending sector, specifically within Home Lending. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping clients navigate their mortgage options and providing exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with clients at designated bank branches to facilitate mortgage loan origination. Collaborate closely with branch management, participate in team meetings, and provide guidance to staff to enhance their understanding of mortgage offerings.
  • Initiate outbound communications to both existing and potential clients regarding mortgage products, ensuring thorough tracking of all interactions.
  • Assess customer needs and deliver tailored solutions, informing them about Wells Fargo's Home Mortgage programs while analyzing suitable mortgage products.
  • Manage the processing of mortgage applications, ensuring compliance with established guidelines regarding rates and terms.
  • Uphold a high standard of client satisfaction through timely and proactive communication.
  • Engage in continuous learning through Wells Fargo's training programs to deepen your knowledge of products, policies, and underwriting standards.
  • Adhere to compliance standards and collaborate with partners to fulfill client needs throughout the mortgage origination process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain a strong presence for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage in the community.
  • This position involves customer interaction and may include negotiating terms and processing applications for secured transactions, necessitating compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience or equivalent, which may include work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail mortgage sales.
  • Strong understanding of lending products and mortgage industry practices.
  • Experience with residential mortgage transactions and established referral sources.
  • Established connections with realtor organizations and community lending nonprofits.
  • Familiarity with community loan products and specialized mortgage solutions.
  • Knowledge of FHA/VA and conventional loan processes is advantageous.
  • Proficient in sales prospecting and referral generation.
  • Experience in educating clients about various mortgage options.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Customer service expertise.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lead through coaching and mentoring.
  • Additional language proficiency in Korean is preferred.
Job Expectations:
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Must successfully complete a Spanish language assessment.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Compliance with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification standards is mandatory.
  • SAFE registration is required upon employment commencement.
