This rewarding opportunity is situated within our specialized Gynecologic Oncology clinic.
Role Summary:
Under direct supervision, the individual will be responsible for welcoming patients and visitors to the clinic in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. This role ensures that all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and signed in accordance with company protocols. The position acts as a bridge between patients and the medical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and visitors to the clinic in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all required forms are collected.
- Gather demographic and insurance details, including copies of insurance cards and current identification for record-keeping. Update information as necessary in the system.
- Register new patients in the system, prepare and organize their charts, and inform nursing staff of patient arrivals by arranging charts in appointment order.
- Collect co-payments, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses during patient visits, issuing receipts when necessary.
- Provide condolence cards to families of patients as requested.
- Maintain a tidy and organized lobby area.
- Identify patients who do not show up for appointments and ensure appropriate notifications are sent.
- Exhibit a strong understanding of patient confidentiality to safeguard both the patient and the clinic. Adhere to policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of front office operations. Assist with other front office tasks as needed.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, forms, and other documentation as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year of office experience, preferably in a healthcare environment, is preferred.
- All newly hired employees must provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date, unless exempted by an approved accommodation.
