Position Overview
The Office Assistant II in this role is responsible for a diverse array of support functions related to COVID-19 and the Infection Prevention Program at Clark County Public Health (CCPH). The main focus is to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients by executing a variety of moderately challenging to complex administrative tasks that enhance program efficiency while leveraging a comprehensive understanding of departmental and county protocols.

Key Responsibilities
Organizational duties include promoting the public health mission of the department, ensuring courteous and efficient service to all clients, honoring the diversity of employees and constituents, engaging in departmental training, and striving for excellence in public health initiatives. This classification is expected to operate independently in daily responsibilities, utilizing sound judgment in non-routine situations. The Office Assistant II will provide support to departmental staff and senior management, reporting directly to the Program Manager of the COVID-19 Infection Prevention Program.

Customer Service Excellence
Deliver customer service to both internal and external clients by executing a range of moderately complex administrative support tasks that contribute to effective office operations, utilizing a thorough understanding of departmental and county programs and procedures.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Two years of experience with minimal supervision, focusing on public interaction, customer service, and general office processes, including the use of modern office technology. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to type at a minimum of 55 words per minute upon entry into the position. A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required.

Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of general office procedures, specialized functions, and policies; proficiency in spelling, grammar, and clerical formats; familiarity with filing and record-keeping; knowledge of applicable laws and policies; and proficiency in PC applications such as word processing and spreadsheets.

Abilities:
  • Develop and maintain databases for tracking departmental information; generate complex reports as needed.
  • Research, interpret, and prepare a variety of documents requiring knowledge of specific program requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments or agencies to coordinate work assignments.
  • Compose and type detailed documents from various sources.
  • Proofread and edit materials for clarity and accuracy.
  • Compile information and prepare reports in response to inquiries.
  • Utilize spreadsheets for tracking and reporting quantitative data.
  • Process forms and applications efficiently.
  • Organize meetings and activities, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in various computer applications relevant to the role.
  • Provide courteous and culturally competent service to clients and the public.
  • Handle a variety of administrative paperwork accurately.
  • Assist in developing program-related procedures and materials.
  • Participate in team planning and program evaluation.

Salary and Benefits
