Business Development Territory Sales Representative

This is a business development account manager territory sales position, responsible for promoting, selling, servicing, and maintaining janitorial chemicals, products, and equipment to new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing sales within existing accounts, developing new business through target accounts, and personal and professional growth and development. They will create a business plan for developing new business and increasing existing business, effectively use company-sponsored tools for time and territory management, and manage credit issues as they apply to accounts that are past due.
The company offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, mileage, phone, and computer, as well as quarterly growth bonuses, health benefits, and a 401K plan. The ideal candidate will have a good vehicle for making customer visits and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for increasing sales within existing accounts
- Develop new business through target accounts
- Personal and professional growth and development
- Create a business plan for developing new business and increasing existing business
- Effectively use company-sponsored tools for time and territory management
- Manage credit issues as they apply to accounts that are past due
- Respond to reports and other communication requested by management
- Participate in company-sponsored promotions and new product introductions
- Build rapport and relationships with key customers
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products, systems, and programs to expand the product mix
- Identify target accounts in conjunction with management
Requirements
- Territory sales experience with proven performance
- Self-starter
- Motivated by commission sales
- Strong computer skills: Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong relationship and communication skills
- Very organized
- Successful work experience
- Great references
- Good vehicle and ability to drive to customer locations
