Position Title: Ambulatory Clinic Health Care Associate

Position Summary:

The Ambulatory Clinic Health Care Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of patient flow within the healthcare environment. This position is dedicated to providing culturally sensitive care with outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include preparing patients for their appointments, assisting with various procedures, scheduling diagnostic tests or consultations, maintaining patient records, organizing clinic and examination areas, managing supply and equipment inventories, and supporting physicians and other healthcare professionals.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Efficiently schedules radiology tests and obtains necessary films and reports while preparing laboratory specimens in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Assists medical staff with specialized procedures and examinations as outlined in the competency checklist.
  3. Collaborates with healthcare team members to coordinate and implement patient care plans, including documenting relevant patient history for clinical review.
  4. Ensures accurate recording of data for completed procedures in medical records and maintains comprehensive medical documentation.
  5. Maintains cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring adequate stock levels of supplies and completing required logs for equipment checks.
  6. Performs clerical tasks such as patient greeting, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests and procedures, processing insurance documentation, and managing financial records.
  7. Conducts basic procedures as directed by nursing or medical staff, including vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the medical record.
  8. Must demonstrate proficiency in the professional, clinical, and technical competencies relevant to the assigned department.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment in an accredited nursing program or a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare or science-related field, or three years of relevant experience under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting.

Licensure and Certification:

Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
