Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ambulatory RN ENT to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Deliver high-quality patient care in the ambulatory setting, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to role and scope of practice.
  • Patient Assessment: Perform preliminary assessments of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow-up with the healthcare team.
  • Complex Patient Care: Evaluate unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitate appropriate intervention.
  • Clinical Decision Making: Implement appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrate the use of expert peers and/or management as applicable.
  • Accountability: Accept accountability and use independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated.
  • Resource Utilization: Demonstrate the appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluation of patient response in the delivery of patient care.
  • Patient Education: Identify teach/learning needs of patients and provide educational instruction to patients and families with healthcare needs.
  • Documentation: Evaluate the effectiveness of patient and family teaching and make documentation in patient charts.
  • Communication: Respond to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary forms (i.e. FMLA, DME, Home Health orders) and obtain physician signatures as appropriate.
  • Competency: Must be able to perform the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Graduate, Associate Degree Nursing, or Bachelor Degree Nursing.
  • Experience: 6 months of RN experience, with 2 or more years RN experience preferred for Ambulatory Clinic RN PRN.
  • Licensure and Certification: Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing, and Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) - American Heart Association (AHA).
