Position Summary:
The Ambulatory Clinic Health Care Associate plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience within the outpatient environment. This position is essential for facilitating patient examinations and treatments with a focus on cultural sensitivity and outstanding customer service. Responsibilities include preparing patients for their visits, conducting limited procedures, scheduling necessary diagnostic tests, maintaining accurate patient records, organizing clinic spaces, managing supply inventories, and supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently schedules radiology tests and acquires necessary films and reports; prepares laboratory specimens in accordance with established protocols.
  • Assists medical professionals with specialized procedures and examinations as outlined in the competency checklist.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to coordinate and implement patient care plans; may document elements of patient history for clinical review.
  • Ensures that data collected during procedures is accurately recorded in medical records.
  • Maintains comprehensive medical records, ensuring all documentation is complete and accessible; manages reports and correspondence, and processes forms related to medical charts.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of examination rooms; stocks supplies and maintains appropriate inventory levels; performs required checks on medical equipment.
  • Handles clerical tasks such as greeting patients, managing registrations, scheduling appointments, and processing insurance documentation.
  • Conducts basic procedures as directed by nursing or medical staff, as per the competency checklist.
  • Measures and records vital signs, height, weight, and other screening data in the medical record.
  • Demonstrates the professional, clinical, and technical competencies required for the assigned department.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment in an accredited nursing program with completion of required coursework, or
  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare or science-related field, or
  • A minimum of three years of experience in inpatient, rehabilitation, or long-term care settings under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a medical office setting.
Licensure and Certification:
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
