We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Vehicle Integration organization, you will be responsible for applying electrical design integration support for cable system schematics and cable design.
Key Responsibilities- Develop electrical roadmaps, system schematics, wiring diagrams, parts wire list, and notes lists, as part of cable assembly build to print definition utilizing Mentor Capital.
- Work closely with mechanical design integration electrical routers to establish physical design characteristics such as wire length.
- Design and analysis of wire harness and RF cable assemblies.
- Contribute to creation of technical presentations to internal team and/or customer team.
- Develop cable drawings.
- Collaborate with other subsystem engineers to integrate all systems into required platform.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with wire harness and RF cable design.
- Fundamental understanding of wire gauge sizing and voltage drop analysis.
- Understanding of basic data signal types (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN etc.).
- Basic circuit design analysis and electrical system sizing/protection as well as various wire shielding requirements.
- Experience with military aircraft avionics subsystems.
- A current active in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher, with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience with Mentor Capital application.
- Prior experience in leading a team of engineers.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Microsoft Visio, RapidHarness, NX, AutoCAD, CATIA.
- Prior experience in coordinating with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within a dynamic program environment.
- Experience with suppliers and supplier coordination.
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $133,000 - $199,600, as well as a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
