Job Title: Senior Principal Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This role will be responsible for leading the design and integration of electrical systems for our aircraft advanced design programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement electrical design roadmaps, system schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Collaborate with mechanical design integration teams to establish physical design characteristics
  • Design and analyze wire harness and RF cable assemblies
  • Contribute to the creation of technical presentations and reports
  • Collaborate with other subsystem engineers to integrate all systems into required platforms
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 8 years of related engineering experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM field and 6 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in a STEM field with 3 years of related engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience with wire harness and RF cable design
  • Fundamental understanding of wire gauge sizing and voltage drop analysis
  • Understanding of basic data signal types (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN, etc.)
  • Basic circuit design analysis and electrical system sizing/protection as well as various wire shielding requirements
  • Experience with military aircraft avionics subsystems
  • A current active in-scope DoD Secret security clearance or higher, with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with Mentor Capital application
  • Prior experience in leading a team of engineers
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Microsoft Visio, RapidHarness, NX, AutoCAD, CATIA
  • Prior experience in coordinating with multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) within a dynamic program environment
  • Experience with suppliers and supplier coordination
Benefits:

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $133,000 - $199,600, as well as a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
