Position Overview:


The Electrical Power Engineering Team at the Naval Reactors Facility is responsible for the maintenance and development of electrical power systems across a 90-acre site, supporting critical operations for the United States Navy.

We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to enhance our team and contribute to our mission.


Key Responsibilities:


- Design, maintain, and repair essential electrical systems, including switchgear, power panels, lighting, and backup power solutions (UPS and Generator).

- Play a vital role in creating electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

- Provide engineering expertise and collaborate effectively with fellow engineers, trades personnel, management, and administrative staff.

- Conduct surveys, prepare reports, and develop documentation using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, OneNote, and PowerPoint.

- Ensure compliance with National Electrical Codes (NFPA & International Code Council) in all design documents.

- Prepare and issue formal correspondence and make technical recommendations.

- Learn from experienced professionals in the field and mentor junior team members.


Qualifications:


- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience; or equivalent qualifications.

- Preferred: 4 years of experience in electrical power systems, proven teamwork skills, familiarity with electrical trade work, and involvement in large-scale construction projects.

- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to draft reports and formal correspondence.

- Understanding of electrical power diagrams and schematics, proficiency in CAD software, and familiarity with SKM Power Tools or similar software.

- Knowledge of NFPA 70 & 70E and other relevant industry codes.

- Flexibility in work assignments is essential.
