We are currently seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineer to join our Lifting and Handling Equipment Design Engineering (LHEDE) Unit.

Job Overview

The LHEDE team is responsible for providing engineering oversight for new crane acquisitions and upgrades to existing cranes.

The successful candidate will engage in the following responsibilities:

  • Development of design specifications
  • Review and approval of vendor designs
  • Performance and validation of engineering calculations
  • Conducting on-site inspections and testing
  • Collaborating with the Project Management Team to formulate and implement project management plans for timely and successful project delivery

As a national asset, the Naval Reactors Facility plays a critical role in supporting the U.S. Navy's aircraft carriers and submarines by managing spent nuclear fuel processing and storage.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science field from an accredited institution; or a Master's degree in the same fields.

Preferred:

  • Strong academic performance (GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale)
  • Experience in a collaborative team setting
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills as necessary
