Position Overview:
The Center for Humanistic Change (CHC) is dedicated to empowering individuals, particularly young people, by equipping them with essential knowledge and skills to make informed and positive life choices through engaging prevention education and evidence-based initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:
The Prevention Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in delivering prevention initiatives and training sessions within educational institutions for students across various age groups. Additionally, this position involves promoting community awareness and distributing information at events and health fairs throughout the region.

Availability:
Daytime availability is essential, with a preference for candidates who can also work occasional evenings and weekends. Familiarity with educational materials is advantageous, though comprehensive training will be provided.

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates should exhibit the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, effectively manage deadlines for documentation and electronic data entry, and engage positively with both youth and adults.

Key skills required include:

  • Excellent judgment and attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with MS Teams is a plus

Successful candidates will demonstrate adaptability, innovative thinking, and a commitment to staying updated with the latest trends in prevention and technology. A willingness to learn new skills is crucial for success in this role.

Application Process:
Selected candidates will be invited to conduct a brief mock presentation as part of the interview process.

Additional Requirements:
All applicants must possess reliable transportation and be capable of light lifting to transport necessary materials to and from various locations.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree in education, psychology, counseling, public health, social work, or a related human services field, along with relevant work experience or equivalent training. A Bachelor's Degree with related experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compliance:
CHC staff are required to obtain and maintain all necessary state and local training certifications and clearances, including background checks and mandated reporter training.

All clearances must comply with legal standards to ensure eligibility for working with children and in educational settings.
