About the Job

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Jefferson College as an Administrative Specialist. As a key member of the Academic Affairs department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to various programs and projects. This includes scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and preparing documents.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with department programs and projects, including scheduling and coordinating appointments, classes, and meetings.
  • Prepare, edit, proofread, sort, process, maintain, and/or distribute correspondence, reports, rosters, forms, files, booklets, timesheets, packets, personnel paperwork, work orders, or other documents.
  • Perform office duties, including monitoring inventory, ensuring adequate availability of supplies and materials, ordering supplies, sorting and distributing mail, and maintaining and updating departmental websites.
  • C coordinate assignments of and schedules part-time and temporary staff, prioritizing and assigning work, and monitoring performance.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Customer service principles and experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications.
  • Recordkeeping principles and keyboarding techniques.
  • Filing principles and practices, modern office procedures, methods, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including providing customer service and interacting with subordinates, coworkers, supervisor, and the general public.
Work Environment

This role is located at Jefferson College and requires occasional attendance of college-related evening and weekend events.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $35,414, based on a 40-hour workweek and assuming 52 weeks per year. The hourly rate is $17.12 per hour, which aligns with industry standards for similar roles in the area.
