Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Vision

Overview

The J&J Family of Companies is seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher focused on Computer Vision within the realm of AI/ML in Radiology. This role is pivotal in advancing our mission to enhance healthcare through innovative solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute analytics and AI/Machine Learning solutions addressing critical scientific challenges.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with both external partners and internal teams across scientific, clinical, and data science disciplines.
  • Define research scopes and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Analyze complex, unstructured radiology images and other imaging data to enhance drug discovery and healthcare outcomes.
  • Effectively communicate complex methodologies and findings to diverse stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as artificial intelligence, computer science, applied mathematics, or electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience in Computer Vision methodologies, including Transformers, CNNs, Diffusion models, RNNs, GANs, and radiomics.
  • Strong background in traditional Computer Vision applications, including OpenCV, object detection, and image segmentation.
  • Hands-on experience with medical imaging formats (e.g., DICOM, nrrd, nifti) and collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish research and communicate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in technical data analysis, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and containerization technologies.
  • Familiarity with various radiology imaging techniques (e.g., MRI, CT, PET, X-ray).
  • Understanding of different imaging modalities and real-world data.
  • Exposure to drug discovery and clinical development processes.
  • Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of disease biology in areas such as cancer, immunology, neuroscience, cardiovascular health, or infectious diseases.
