Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, we are at the forefront of designing, constructing, and operating advanced aircraft and their supporting technologies.
We are looking for a skilled and driven AI/ML Research Scientist specializing in Autonomy to contribute to the evolution of flight technology.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies to tackle technical challenges within aerospace and defense sectors.
- Facilitate the swift creation of innovative demonstrations and prototypes to advance AI/ML-enabled autonomous systems, including modeling, simulation, and real-world vehicle integration.
- Support or spearhead applied research and development initiatives in partnership with external collaborators, including leading academic institutions.
- Assist in the formulation of new research and development project proposals for government initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Over 3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., PyTorch), artificial intelligence, computer vision, or natural language processing.
- Proficiency in software development (e.g., Python).
- Must be a US Person (US citizen or permanent resident/Green Card holder).
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in robotics or autonomous vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional travel may be necessary.
- The selected candidate will be expected to perform some work onsite.
Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range: $94,000.00 to $167,000.00
Maximum Range: $113,000.00 to $202,000.00
