Position Summary

This role is situated within the In-Space Systems division, which concentrates on the design, production, and management of satellite systems to tackle significant challenges in space mobility. As a vital member of a diverse engineering team, you will be responsible for developing mixed-signal electrical circuitry and integrating our cutting-edge Optical Communications Terminal. This will facilitate flexible, high-data-rate optical communication links for various spaceflight applications.

  • Contribute to the entire lifecycle of satellite systems, addressing critical challenges in space mobility.
  • Utilize your technical expertise and leadership capabilities to enhance the safety and reliability of human spaceflight.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in electronics hardware development, including circuit card design and consumer electronics.
  • Experience in designing analog, high-speed digital, or mixed-signal circuits, with skills in analysis, simulation, testing, and component selection.
  • Understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, grounding, and general PCB layout principles.
  • Familiarity with SoC or Processor/FPGA boards featuring multiple power domains and clock systems.
  • Proficiency in high-speed serial bus design and optimization.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence tool suites.
  • Knowledge of components including ADCs, DACs, OpAmps, power supplies, microcontrollers, and memory types.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience (8+ years with a Master's degree) in design, development, and testing.
  • Experience with software-defined radios or modems.
  • Understanding of communication protocols such as Ethernet and IEEE standards.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in the qualification of commercial-grade components for space applications.
  • Familiarity with testing standards for space hardware communication systems.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position in Washington is between $156,910.50 and $219,674.70. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and an education support program. Paid time off includes up to four weeks annually and 14 company holidays.
