Starting pay: $19.11/hr. Final compensation is based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves assisting members with information regarding TruWest products, services, and account details. Responsibilities include supporting branch opening and closing procedures, handling teller duties, initiating new accounts and deposit products, and processing loans. Duties also encompass verifying information on deposit applications and ensuring compliance with credit union policies. You will manage existing member relationships to promote retention and growth through the sale of deposit and loan products, as well as referrals to investment and mortgage services. This position requires monitoring daily activities and compiling statistical reports regularly. You will also be responsible for error resolution, maintaining and balancing a cash drawer, and ensuring daily reconciliation of all negotiable instruments. A professional demeanor is expected at all times, along with the ability to maintain a flexible schedule. Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Successful completion of Certifications A - D of the TruAchievement Branch Program is preferred if participating.

Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a Teller II role or similar sales position at a financial institution is required.

Knowledge and Skills:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong sales and referral capabilities. Advanced knowledge of TruWest products, services, and account requirements is essential to identify cross-selling opportunities that benefit members. Familiarity with credit union policies and basic lending regulations is necessary. Proficiency in performing accurate mathematical calculations, attention to detail, and understanding of negotiable instrument elements are important. Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including navigating relevant websites, are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities, are essential. The ability to work independently and complete tasks promptly is expected. A professional appearance and demeanor are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify members' financial needs through profiling and promote suitable products and services to maximize cross-sale opportunities while meeting established service and sales goals.
  2. Understand and perform all teller-related duties.
  3. Manage lobby traffic effectively, providing personalized and professional service to all members, and seek opportunities to exceed their expectations.
  4. Utilize the lobby management application, Lobby Tracker, effectively.
  5. Accurately complete and process product, service, and loan applications for review, while interfacing with members regarding submitted applications.
  6. Understand and open all deposit accounts and accurately originate and book applicable loan products, ensuring compliance with state and federal documentation requirements.
  7. Possess a solid understanding of Business Accounts, IRAs, and other specialized accounts, including required documentation for account openings.
  8. Understand Xpress Accounts and LoansPQ, ensuring timely follow-up on loan queues and proper documentation.
  9. Educate members about their financial options by actively listening and responding to their needs with appropriate financial products and services.
  10. Perform Notary and Signature Guarantee transactions as required.
  11. Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Security Policies, Confidentiality Policies, and Human Resource Policies.
  12. Conduct successful outbound sales calls to existing and potential members, and assist with incoming calls as needed.
  13. Maintain a personal 'book of business,' following up with members regularly and generating ideas for successful sales opportunities.
  14. Ensure proper processing of source documents, checks, and negotiables by following established procedures.
  15. Understand the electronic check process and adhere to anti-fraud check detection protocols.
  16. Familiarize yourself with all eServices offered by the credit union and assist members in signing up for relevant services.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with team members and management, demonstrating a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  2. Exhibit high energy and sales enthusiasm during each member interaction.
  3. Handle member transactions and complete assignments promptly by organizing work effectively.
  4. Communicate professionally with colleagues and members, both verbally and in writing, while maintaining a professional relationship with other branches and departments.
  5. Utilize downtime productively.
Perform any other duties as required to achieve credit union objectives.
